In October 2011, we partnered with the UW Ruckelshaus Institute for Environment and Natural Resources and UW Cooperative Extension to celebrate Conflict Resolution Day in Wyoming. Conflict Resolution Day was originally started by the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) to celebrate and promote the use of alternative dispute resolution processes as a means to resolve conflict. For more information on ACR, you can visit their website at http://www.acrnet.org/crday/.
In Wyoming, we planned two events to celebrate Conflict Resolution Day. We hosted a symposium on Wednesday, October 19 in Casper. This one-day workshop brought together practitioners, attorneys, state and federal agencies and other groups and individuals interested in learning more about the variety of alternative dispute resolution processes taking place in our state. The Symposium featured speakers and breakout sessions designed to spark discussion about the future of ADR in Wyoming. A short overview of the event can be found **here.**

The second part of the celebration was a coordinated effort to promote mediation, facilitation and other ADR processes in towns and communities across Wyoming. Volunteers gave presentations and radio interviews, prepared press releases and distributed outreach material to their local communities. We provided media packets and samples of presentations, news releases, etc., for the volunteers' use. If you are interested in volunteering in the future, contact Lucy at email@example.com.
