Notice of Intent to Adopt Rules and Regulations

Regulations Pertaining to Seed Law

The Wyoming Department of Agriculture, Technical Services Section, proposes amending Wyoming Rules and Regulations Chapter 51, Regulations Pertaining to Seed Law.

The Department is proposing to amend Chapter 51 Regulations Pertaining to Seed Law upon request from the regulated seed industry, the Wyoming Crop Improvement Association; the Wyoming State Seed Lab; the Wyoming Department of Agriculture; and the Board of Agriculture.  The Board of Agriculture on April 10, 2017 approved the request to amend the rules to add Ventenata Grass Ventenata dubia to the Wyoming Regulated Weed List at a tolerance of 1,200 seeds per pound.

Public comments on the proposed amendments may be submitted by 5:00 pm on or before June 28, 2017.  A public hearing will be held if requested by 25 or more persons, by a governmental subdivision, or by an organization of 25 or more members.  Written comments or request for a public hearing may be addressed to: Wyoming Department of Agriculture, Attn:  Hank Uhden, Technical Services Manager, 2219 Carey Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82002, or submitted via the Wyoming Department of Agriculture website at:

Notice is hereby given of a Weed and Pest Council - State Allocations Committee (SAC), as defined by W.S. 11-5-113(a), meeting on Thursday April 13th, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Ramkota Hotel, Casper, Wyoming.  The committee will review and allocate highway noxious weed control contracts; Special Management Program grants; Pesticide Registration Fee grants; and State and Private Forestry noxious weed grants.  For more information or a full agenda contact Slade Franklin at 307-777-6585.

Bean Commission to Meet Feb 2 in Powell PDF Print E-mail

The Wyoming Bean Commission is scheduled to meet on Thursday, February 2, 2017 in Powell at the Powell Research & Extension Center.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. During the meeting, the Wyoming Bean Commission will discuss the Legislative session, the Dry Bean Consortium, and future research needs. Along with this, they will receive updates on UW Research Projects & Reports, make appointments to the Crop Research Foundation of Wyoming, receive updates on various other topics, and handle any other needed business. The meeting is open to the public and there will be a time for public comment.
