BOA Joint Meeting July 7 PDF Print E-mail

The Wyoming Board of Agriculture will be holding a joint meeting with the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission, and the Wyoming Livestock Board, on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at 1:30 pm, at the Hampton Inn, 55 Bloomfield Avenue, Pindedale, WY. Topics include: The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission will be asked to vote to approve Chapter 66, Wyoming Bighorn/Domestic Sheep Plan Revision Rules.

Drought in Northeastern Wyoming PDF Print E-mail

Weston, Crook, and Niobrara are currently facing severe drought conditions. While they have now been declared disaster areas by the USDA based on US Drought Monitor data, there is still some concern that the data is not representative of the area. To help with this issue, individuals can participate in Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network which feeds data to the US Drought Monitor. Through this link (CoCoRaHS), individuals can receive a rain gauge they can use to input data to the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network each day.

Along with this, the WDA is currently updating a list of available hay and pasture for producers who are in need. If you are a producer who would like to be on the list, please contact Derek Grant at

Notice of Intent to Adopt Rules and Regulations - CHS PDF Print E-mail

The Wyoming Department of Agriculture is amending Chapter 23 of the Wyoming Department of Agriculture’s General Agency Rules. This amendment incorporates the Office of Administrative Hearings Uniform Rules for Contested Case Practice and Procedures Chapter 2. Formerly, Chapter 23 outlined the practice and procedure for contested case hearings, with the Board of Agriculture as the body conducting evidentiary hearings and making decisions.

The Department of Agriculture is incorporating the Uniform Rules for Contested Case Practice and Procedure which will allow for uniform, consistent, and appropriate hearing procedures. This change is necessary to ensure that any establishment will be afforded the necessary fair process. The changes to Chapter 23 are denoted through the “strike and underline” method. Underlined items are proposed additions and strike-through items are proposed deletions.

The 45 day public comment period ends July 25, 2016.  A public hearing will be held if requested by 25 persons, a governmental subdivision or by an association having not less than 25 members.  Written comments or request for a public hearing may be addressed to: Wyoming Department of Agriculture, 2219 Carey Ave, Cheyenne, WY 82002.

Public comments being accepted for joint bighorn sheep/domestic sheep rule PDF Print E-mail

All agencies, groups and interested persons are hereby notified that public comments are currently being accepted for the new Wyoming Bighorn Sheep/Domestic Sheep Revision Rules.

Pursuant to W.S.11-19-604, the Wyoming Board of Agriculture (WBA), the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission (WGFC) and the Wyoming Livestock Board (WLSB) have been working together to jointly promulgate rules and regulations to develop and maintain the Wyoming Bighorn Sheep/Domestic Sheep Interaction Plan. The new joint rule will be WGFC Chapter 66: Wyoming Bighorn Sheep/Domestic Sheep Revision Rules.

A public hearing and agency action on the proposed rule shall occur on Thursday, July 7, in Pinedale, at a joint meeting of the WGFC, the WLSB, and the WBA. In order for written comments to be reviewed prior to the public hearing, written comments shall be accepted no later than 8 am on July 5th.
